Woodson Scholars & Hurst Scholars Award Nomination Form

Berea College recognizes promising students with the Dr. Carter G. Woodson Scholars Award and Dr. Samuel Hurst Scholars Award which will be presented through very special recognition.

Nominators are allowed and encouraged to nominate multiple deserving students. Nomination Deadline : Friday, February 14, 2025

Nominations for Woodson Scholars: African American juniors who are active in their community, school, civic, and/or church organizations, demonstrate financial need, and have a cumulative (unweighted) high school GPA of 3.4 or higher are eligible for this award.

Nominations for Hurst Scholars: High School juniors who will be exceptional First-Generation College Students, with resilience, perseverance and grit, demonstrate financial need, and have a cumulative (unweighted) high school GPA of 3.4 or higher are eligible for this award.
